Classical v-belts
SHWARTZ, DUNLOP and GATES classical V-belts for combines, tractors, balers and implements – in all standard profiles, from the narrow 8x5 to the wide 32/D, and in lengths for variator, header, fan and conveyor drives. Find the belt by profile and length in the filter above the list.
V-belt profiles
- 13/A – 13 mm wide, 8 mm high
- 17/B – 17 mm wide, 11 mm high, the most common profile on combines
- 17/BX – B profile in cogged design, for small pulleys
- 20/BC and 22/C – for heavier drives
- 25/CD and 32/D – for the highest loads
- Narrow profiles 8x5, 9.5x8 and 12.5x10
Length designation in inches
Many belts carry an inch designation next to the length in millimetres, e.g. 22x3550 Li C140: profile C (22 mm), inside length 3550 mm, or 140 inches. Old belts often show only the inch code (C140, B88, D189), which you can use to find the matching length in millimetres.

How do I identify the profile of a V-belt?
Measure the belt width on the top side. 13 mm is profile A, 17 mm profile B, 22 mm profile C and 32 mm profile D. The profile is often printed on the belt itself.
What does C140 or B88 on a belt mean?
The letter is the belt profile and the number is the inside length in inches. For example, C140 is a C profile (22 mm) belt 140 inches long, or about 3550 mm.
What is the difference between a plain and a cogged (BX) belt?
A cogged belt has notches on the inside, so it bends more easily around small pulleys and runs cooler. It is used on drives with small pulley diameters.
On a multi-belt drive, should all belts be replaced at once?
Yes. New and old belts are not the same length due to stretching, so the new belt would carry more of the load and wear out faster. On a multi-belt drive, all belts are replaced together.
